Providing the community with access to biodegradable products. educating the community on recycling and risk factors of litter on our physical & mental health.
We adopted 3 miles of the 105 freeway, in South Los Angeles, as away to be an example of the "change we want to see". We hold trash pick up days in the community on the public streets. This project is in conjunction to Green Streets.
To promote physical health & wellness with incentives. We offer cash prizes to first, second and third place winners. We also provide first place winner with a trophy and, an award for the most steps in 60 minutes. We provide all participants with a participation certificate upon request. When possible, we remove trash around encampments and dispose at approved dumpsite.
When we outreach to homeless persons/encampments. We seek out United States Veterans, to make them aware of the resources the VA has to end homelessness on Los Angeles.
Children ages 8 and up can participate in our community trash pick up events. Children 16-18 can participate in our pedometer ( step challenge) they have a bank account in their name for prize ( parents can accept payment for their children). Children 16-17 and adults 18 and up can volunteer with events. Some volunteer events are paid events.
